Postal Innovation, a new global initiative from Wise Media, bringing to life the
first international think-tank and observatory on innovative technologies and methods in the
postal market, held its first conference in Abu Dhabi, on May 3 and 4.
Dr. Mohammad Saleh Benten, Chairman and President of Saudi Post was a keynote speaker
at the event which championed the development of efficient postal services as a key to the
competitiveness of all postal and express shipping operators in a globalized market. Also the
CEO of Emirates Post and the CEO of Liban Post were among the representatives of the
local posts attending the launch event and contributing to the conference.

Postal Innovation officially launched as high tech
think-tank for smart postal business
Postal Innovation, a new global initiative, bringing to life the first
international think-tank and observatory on innovative technologies and methods in the postal
market, was officially launched on March 15 by Wise Media, at the Poste Italiane
headquarters in Rome to a distinguished group of prominent players in the postal,
transportation and express shipping sectors.
Among others, the CIO of Poste Italiane, Ing. Agostino Ragosa attended the launch, along
with the Chairman of the Telematics Cooperative of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), a UN
organization, Mr Giorgio Pomponi.

Saudi Post President to keynote at Postal Innovation
Dr. Mohammad Saleh Benten, Chairman and President of Saudi Post
will keynote at the Postal Innovation Conference being held in Abu Dhabi, on May 3
and 4, under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior
H.H. Sheik Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and endorsed by the European Commission, the
Emirates Identity Authority and Abu Dhabi Police.

The first international observatory on innovative technologies and methods in
the postal market goes live in 2010 with two events organized by Wise Media.
Abu Dhabi to host “Postal Innovation Conference”, the world’s first forward
thinking high-end technology congress dedicated to the postal and express
shipping industry on May 3-4. Cardinal “Postal Innovation Conference &
Exhibition” to go live in Milan on November 16-18 with a three day conference
and a two day exhibition.

the postal sector. In 2007, 5.5 million employees processed and delivered 433 billion domestic
letter-post items, some 5.5 billion international items and over 6 billion ordinary parcels. Some
660,000 postal establishments make the postal network the largest physical distribution network
in the world. As traditional mail is falling in volume globally and eCommerce is rising, RFID
is playing a crucial role in reducing the decline in traditional postal volumes and coping with
